关于手机的英语作文（也能写好英语作文的开头）

我在批改同学们写的英语作文时，发现很多作文一开篇经常就是with the development of science and technology/ society/our country/economy; 十篇作文里有五篇都会用到这个短语，难道离了它就写不成作文了吗？当然不是，咱们今天的文章就是帮你解决写作中的这个痛点问题，主要包括以下三方面内容：

以with the development of 为关键词，进行语料库检索和对比分析；

从语言和思维的角度探讨中国学习者为什么喜欢使用这个短语；

结合外刊，讲解可替换的短语和句型。

下面我们先以development 一词为关键词，在CLEC（中国学习者英语语料库）中检索一下同它相关的搭配。

在CLEC语料库中，development一共出现了830次，而且development的使用也呈现出一定的规律性，在它后面经常出现的名词有economy, science and technology, society, country，industry，world等等。同时我们还发现with the development of+n.这一搭配出现的频率非常之高，我们以with the development of 为检索项，进一步检索，得到的数据是325。可见with the development of +n. 对于中国学生来说是一个典型的搭配。

柯林斯COBUILD英语词典对with的第十八条解释是：If something increases or decreases with a factor, it changes as that factor changes.

E.g. The risk of developing heart disease increase with the number of cigarettes smoked. 但在词典中这个义项的位置是倒数第四条，说明with的这个意义并不是最常用的义项。

我们又以with the development of 为关键词，在美国当代语料库（关于语料库中进行了相关检索，（语料库相关内容我们之前讲过了，错过的小伙伴们点击蓝色字体阅读相关内容，知识就是力量，所以呢，常和knowledge搭配的动词你知道吗？）里出现了762次，也不少，但它后面跟的单词是比较多元化的。

而且我们进一步检索后发现，native speakers 很少把with development of 这个短语用在文章的最开头，基本上都是在文中出现的。我们看一些语料库里出现的native speaker 写的句子。

With the development of technology and trends of globalization, it is highly possible to extend FL learning from limited classroom talk to real-life interactions with native speakers.

Nurses have many roles and functions within a health care team, including care provision, decision making, protecting patients' rights and providing information. With the development of technology, nurses and trainee nurses may be confronted with issues of malpractice in the course of their work as the application of more invasive procedures increases.

Moreover, with the development of science, innovation can not meet our requirement today.

以上不同语料库检索结果说明，词语搭配(collocation)是具有民族性的，词语搭配要受到社会文化、风俗习惯、人们的思维模式和语言内部运作机制的影响，所以我们不可能要求学生所使用的搭配与本族语者完全一模一样。因为语言与思维密不可分，语言既被用于表达思想，又是思想的一部分，而思维正是写作活动的基础。不同语言会影响人们的思维方式以及对世界的感知。人们世界观的形成要通过语言这一手段才能形成，语言习得的完成是人们思维方式形成的标志。学生首先掌握了汉语，形成了中国式的思维，再学英语，母语的思维方式势必对另外一种思维方式的学习产生影响。学生写作的过程是用英语表达思想的过程，因此在他们的英语表达中势必留下中国特点。

With the development of +n.这一搭配在学习者语料库中高频出现，development 与economy, science and technology, society, country，industry等词反复共现都是有原因的。在中国，发展是硬道理，经济要发展，工业要发展，科技要发展，社会要发展，事实上这一切的确都在发展，每一个中国人都切实感觉到了发展，“随着……的发展”在汉语中是一个使用频率非常高的搭配。再加上学生写的作文多数是议论文，在开篇一般要求要写一两句概括性的、引入主题的话语，因此学生联系社会现实，在用英语表达自己的思想时，很容易找到 with the development of +n.这种用法，这一搭配就逐渐成为一个类似习语的整体储存在大脑中。一旦需要使用，这个意义整体（unit of meaning）就毫不费力地出现，所以学生反复使用这一搭配是不足为奇的。

但是这个短语再好，也不能总是用啊，大家一定要学会不同的表达方式，争取让自己的作文写得与众不同，而不是千篇一律。想把应试作文写好，得高分，作文的语言表达中就必须有“亮点”，能吸引改卷子老师的注意力。最后我们就结合外刊比如《经济学人》、《纽约时报》，给大家提供一些可供替换的句型和短语，这样大家就可以避免老是使用with the development of 了。

句型1. Partly fuelled by technology, XX has taken off.

在科技的推动下，XX得到了迅速发展。

Partly fuelled by technology, Britain's "gig economy" has taken off in recent years.

近几年，在科技的推动下，英国“零工经济”蓬勃发展。

再举个例子：

Fuelled by the wide spread of Internent, on-line learning has taken off in recent years.

近年来，在互联网广泛普及的推动下，线上学习开始兴起。

句型2. As sth grows/ improves/advances by leaps and bounds...

随着...迅速发展...

随着医疗技术的迅速发展，人们的平均寿命越来越长。

句型3. With the rise/advancement of technology, XX is no longer an alien notion to the public.

随着科技的崛起/进步，......对公众来说不再是一个陌生的概念。

举个例子：

With the progress of technology, artificial intelligence is no longer an alien notion to the public.

随着科技的进步，人工智能对公众来说不再是一个陌生的概念。

句型4. Recent years have witnessed a spurt of progress in sth

最近几年，….迅猛发展。

spurt 原意指液体或火焰喷出，冒出，这里指加速前进，迸发

举个例子：

Recent years have witnessed a spurt of progress in the sharing economy.

最近几年，共享经济迅猛发展。

再举个例子：

Recent years have witnessed a spurt of progress in digital RMB business.

最近几年，数字人民币业务迅猛发展。

句型5. sth finds its way into people’s everyday life/ thousands of households,

XX进入人们的日常生活/千家万户，…

举个例子：

Intelligent appliances, such as smart phones, smart TVs, smart air conditioners and other smart products have found their way into thousands of households, and have gradually changed everyone’s daily life.

智能家电,例如智能手机、智能电视、智能空调等智能产品走进千家万户，逐渐改变了大家的日常生活。

句型6. With the increase of...，sth has picked up / gathered / gained steam

声势逐渐强大；渐成气候；慢慢活跃起来

steam原意是水蒸气，这里指获得发展的动力

举个例子：

With the increase of output and profits, China's production of new-energy vehicles has gained steam.

随着产量的提高、利润的上涨，中国的新能源汽车生产取得了长足的进展。
